We were very fortunate to have secured Jonathan Partridge to give us a talk about Jaguar's long and distinguished past, and Jaguar Heritage's work to preserve it for us and future generations.

Some of the cars Jonathan talked to us about included:

  •  1928 Swallow sidecar
  •  the famous XK120 with registration "NUB 120"
  •  the famous E-type with registration "77 RW"
  •  saloons belonging both to Sir William Lyons and his wife
1961 Geneva E-Type
Normal Dewis in "77 RW" in Geneva
  •  the XJ13
  •  the global launch of the XF

This was a fascinating talk, which included many historical photos, videos and a virtual tour of the Jaguar Heritage museum.

Jonathan read Engineering Science at Oxford University before joining Ford Motor Company as a graduate trainee 1977.

He then moved to Jaguar Cars in the Midlands in 1984 as a Product Planner, joining just before the company became a PLC under the leadership of John Egan.

In 1989 his former employer caught up with him again when Ford paid £1.6 billion to purchase Jaguar.

Jonathan stayed with Jaguar for many years working in various roles in product marketing, vehicle supply and sales forecasting, ending up in 2003 as Brand Manager for the Jaguar S-TYPE and subsequently its successor, the XF.

He master-minded the global launch of the XF in 2007 and went on to help develop the future product plans for the XF and its eventual successor as well as starting the process for the keenly anticipate new smaller Jaguar saloon.

He took early retirement from Jaguar in 2010 but after a short interval started working for Jaguar Heritage, initially as a consultant but latterly as Marketing and Communication Manager.

Jaguar Heritage (Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust) is a separate charitable trust that looks after the large collection of historic Jaguar and Daimler vehicles.
Evante
Jonathan's Evante
It supports many classic car events around the world through the season and also supports a lot of media activities and events for Jaguar Land Rover.

When not indulging in his passion for classic cars and all things Jaguar, Jonathan enjoys music, playing racketball, sailing and looking after his rare Evante sports car, one of only about 100 manufactured.
